Fires in industry are increasing in number every year. According to UNESPA in its annual report, there will be an increase in the number of fires in recycling plants in 2023, among other reasons, due to the increase in lithium battery waste, which causes a very virulent type of fire.
To address this obvious problem, we have developed an intelligent system for fire prevention and early detection in industrial facilities. IRTIMfire is our solution to reduce the risk of fire in industrial sectors such as waste management plants, warehouses, industrial laundries, wood processing companies and other easily combustible elements, petrochemical industry and many other sectors.
IRTIMfire is based on infrared thermography to detect potential fires at a very early stage before smoke appears and fire starts. The system consists of two parts: hardware and software. The hardware consists of thermographic cameras and temperature sensors. The software has been developed and trained by us during these yearsto achieve effective results, thanks to theimplementation in several pilot plants to work under real conditions, where it has demonstrated its effectiveness .The softwareanalyzes the thermographic images taken by the sensors, detecting anomalous hot spots and triggering alarms to take the appropriate measures .The combination of state-of-the-art thermographic cameras, together with Artificial Intelligence and exclusive algorithms, allows fire prevention thanks to the fast and reliable detection of hot spots, discarding false positives.
Traditional fire detection systems detect a fire when it is already in progress. In contrast, IRTIMfire works by monitoring 24/7 the spaces to be protected and detecting a potential fire, even before there is smoke or flames.. When the system detects an abnormal hot zone, it issues an alarm. This alarm allows firefighting services to act quickly on the fire before it spreads. This gives the extinguishing services more time to act and prevent the fire from spreading.
How IRTIMfire works
The system IRTIMfire system is designed to meet the requirements of Industry 4.0. It uses cloud-connected sensors to collect real-time data from all work centers. This information can be monitored from anywhere using a PC, tablet or smartphone.
Cameras and system software IRTIMfire system cameras and software are prepared to work in demanding environments. In addition, the system performs periodic self-diagnostics, 24/7 to ensure its availability and to check that all elements are working properly in order to immediately notify any incident.
